Happy Sankratri

I wish you all a Very happy Sankratri. This sankratri celebration was good. I have been to my native to celebrate the festival. We have celebrated the Bhogi (The first day celebration of 3 days Sankratri(pongal) festival) in my house kadapa. Morning we woke up at 4.30 AM and lit up the fire. Kids has shouted the words Bhogo Bhogi ….
This bhogi campfire is one of my favorite festival event, which I never missed. I feel very bad during incidents I missed the celebration. You can view the photos for better understanding of the bhogi campfire process.

We have traveled to Chendrajugaripalli located 25 KM from Royachoti Taluk which is 50 KM away from Kadapa district of Andhra Pradhesh, India. This is my inlaws village. I preferred to be in village for the sankratri celebration as its a festival of village. The big change I noticed is Many of the villagers settled in various town are come back to their village to celebrate the festival. For the old people who are staying in villages, its a big relief and leaves good memories for them. I have observed lively atmosphere in the village for the festival and most of the youth came forward and arranged events like Chakka Bhajana, Dance programmes and funny games. Valley ball court was prepared on the fly and many people came forward to play the Valley Ball.
